SIM and the Environment

Shoreline Insurance Managers is supportive of Marine Environmental Issues and is pleased to have as one of its Board members Dr. Anthony Knap, President and CEO of THK Global Solutions. Until recently Dr Knap was the President and Director of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences which help gives us all a better understanding of the world's oceans and man's impact upon them. Through greater scientic research will come solutions to many of the challenges that we must overcome if we are to conserve our planet.

To quote from Dr. Anthony Knap when he joined the Boards of both Shoreline Mutual and Arvak:

"First of all it is an honour and a pleasure to be invited to serve on the Boards. I have had a long history with shipping as my father operated a number of bulk carriers from the 1940's to the early 1970's and basically I was brought up on ships. Also my expertise in oceanography has been oil spills and the use of oil dispersants and I was the President and Director of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences for 26 years (BIOS) where we study long-term changes of the ocean and climate. In my new role with THK Global Solutions I will be available to help Shoreline and Arvak Clients to better cope and understand about new environmental threats and regulation".
